¡Hola! My name is Betsy Swigart and I'm thrilled to be back at Mountain Range High School for my second year! I will be teaching Spanish I and III and co-sponsoring the Countries and Cultures Club to spread my love of language, learning, and culture.

¡Vamos azul! I am originally from Michigan and I received my Bachelor's degree in Spanish and Music from the University of Michigan. I also received my Master's in Education from the University of Michigan. I moved to Colorado last year in pursuit of hiking, skiing, low-humidity and lots of sunshine!

I have traveled to Spain and Mexico and am eager to spend more time abroad to soak up even more of the diverse cultures associated with the Spanish language. I have studied Spanish for 10 years and I love being a language nerd. I student taught for a year at the high school level and I also taught 4th grade Spanish for 2 years. I love to use my passion for music to enhance my teaching as well as spread a love for this valuable cultural aspect of Spanish.
